Last weekend, I went home and my best friend, Chase AmazeBaltz, met me there. We attended my mom’s wedding party, were on a boat, and enjoyed my hometown together.

This is old, like made back in January old. I found the files when I was cleaning out my computer last night. The piece I painted was for my one of my good friends, Dan, because his birthday was coming up so his girlfriend and I plotted where I would paint this piece and record it but not upload it until she received the original illustration to give to him, etc. I….never really mailed it out (I actually still have it somewhere, it might be back in my house in Maryland), but it was mainly because I didn’t think it was successful BUT, I liked how the video turned out.
Like my Margot Tenenbaum recording, I would have scanned the final product for the end, but this just gives you another idea how I work with watercolor and ink. The recording isn’t anything fancy, I just have a make-shift tripod out of garden planters and sculpey clay with my Canon PowerShot G11 and iMovie. And please excuse the state my room was in at the time.
I’m planning on doing one with how I work digitally. I’ll probably work on it this weekend actually.
I decided to experiment and try to create a time-lapse video. On top of that the technique I’m trying is an experiment suggested by a professor of mine.
The final piece is for Miss Allison Neckman who has been very helpful for me professionally. I’ve gathered that she is a fan of Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums and the character of Margot Tenenbaum.
EDIT: erosion-of-beauty asked how I rigged my camera so I could record the video. I don’t have a tripod so I had to build a makeshift one out of some gardening planters and sculpey clay. I used a Canon Powershot G11, so the quality isn’t amazing, and I edited it all in iMovie (゚∀゚)

Even though I returned to Savannah on Monday, January 2nd, Thursday evening I took a train ride back up to DC to meet up with several friends. From there, we rode the bus up to New York City and this all served as a surprise for a good friend of ours, Becca, as her boyfriend (now fiancée) planned on proposing to her.
This is a video collective I put together from this past weekend (thanks Dan for being the camera man) not only for Josh and Becca, but for our group of friends from back home. I realize I am not a film student, so editing and song transitions aren’t the greatest, but this was done for the people who share these memories with me.
Song I used: Seabear-“Arms”; The Naked & Famous-“Young Blood”; Matt & Kim-“Daylight”; Lifehouse-“First Time”; Outasight-“Tonight Is The Night”.
Cheers to Josh and Becca and fond memories with good friends (and iMovie).
