Macarons at Cafe 37 :3 (Taken with instagram)

I created a type and image piece for They Draw & Cook based on my family’s almond cookie recipe.  I’ve been wanting to do something like this for awhile, and I had to go through my mom’s recipes and see which ones she would let me share (though I’m rather surprised she let me share this one out of all of them).
When I get the chance, I’d like to do make more of these recipe art pieces because it also challenges me with composition and hand-drawn type!  So you’re all welcome to make these some time :)  I even made these for class.
They go great with tea (and/or coffe I’ve heard, but I don’t drink coffee)!

I baked some challah bread for the first time today and also made a baked goat cheese salad for dinner with fig vinaigrette dressing.

I guess both were successful if the entire loaf and all of the salad was eaten!  While I was waiting for the dough to rise, I completed Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84.  It is an amazing book and I highly recommend it, and not just because of the amazing cover design (seriously, I bought the hard cover version because the paperback won’t be the same without the dust jacket).  Now I’m on to the next book(s) on my list.  I have: The Good Solider by Ford Madox Ford;  Love In the Time of Cholera and One Hundred Years Of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez.

I have artwork to put up soon!
