Sea Oleena//”Swimming Story”

My daydream song.

This has been a good song to get me going when I commute to and from work. I also like to have it on in the background while I’m drawing and walking around my area.

So, I’ve been pretty busy lately, but here’s some music I’ve been listening to frequently on my song rotation. I’ve got a few projects going on all at once, so I’ll gradually share either some WIPs and finalized stuff at the end of the week hopefully. And I have some questions in my inbox that I’ve been meaning to answer, so I’ll get to those as well.

We had our first snowfall yesterday. It’s pretty much melted away today, but still means I can put this on.

Yeah, I’m a fan and I dig.

This 10” vinyl record kept appearing whenever I went to the local record shops and I decided to buy it a few years ago. I had never heard of the artist and didn’t know what to expect, but the way the album was packaged was interesting in a clear sleeve with the black and white photograph printed on a transparency, so the positive areas were shown from the white paper sleeve the record rests in.

I consider it a lucky find as it’s nice to put on the turn table while I work.

It’s a break out your record player and play all of the Los Campesinos! Heat Rash records kind of day.
It’s been a busy week, and this is just some audio fuel to help me get through it and get work done.
EDIT: A few of you have sent me questions asking me about the above records (actually, the image has the Heat Rash #3 issue and the Heat Rash #3 7” vinyl on rotation). I’m a subscriber to the band’s quarterly magazine/7” vinyl thing that they launched in 2010 and the moment I found out about it, I subscribed immediately despite having to pay a bit extra since I’m an international fan. So yes, I do have an undying love for this band since 2007. I get excited each time I receive the new issue and I immediately play the record with the unreleased singles and read the magazine.

I’m just doing what I can with a whole lot of drive. Trying to make my own path; take a chance, can’t sit and worry about no 5-year plan. Gotta live for the day ‘cause I could die where I stand.

Been on my summer playlist and on a constant rotation with the rest of his music when I work, run, and play outside.

I’ve been here for about a month now and my dad visited last weekend bringing me my desk and some other belongings (like my books!!!). So I finally took the time to get my work space situated instead of always staring at a blank wall.

And in a creepy way, welcome to a quarter of my room.

Been on my playlist for awhile and slowly working on new work, but for now I have to focus on getting ready for an interview in a few weeks in New York.

By the way, thanks to those who sent me positive messages after yesterday’s post. I’ll try to get a chance to respond to them when I get a chance :)

Enjoy a band I’ve been listening to a lot for the past few weeks.  Helped me get through an intense project I mailed out Monday morning :)

She hasn’t been on my blog in awhile. Lately Pi likes sleeping right next to my speakers when I have music playing. (Still working on that painting) ( ̄▽ ̄)
